IPL affected by Corona, tournament postponed to 15 April
The (BCCI) Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken a decision to extend the scheduled date of the very popular IPL 2020 (Indian Premier League). The decision to postpone the 13th edition of IPL is taken due to the continuous growth of the corona virus as it is becoming a threat to the people. Originally, the IPL tournament was going to start from 29 March but BCCI has extended this date to two weeks and now the 13th IPL season is scheduled to 15 April due to this Pandemic. As all know, the corona virus has spread and has affected many lives from all over the world due to these, many events that have been postponed keeping safety in mind.
Corona has had a deep impact on the cricket world as well. Earlier, the remaining two ODI matches between India and South Africa which was to be held at Lucknow was also canceled.
Not only IPL and ODI, but there are also many events in the world that have been canceled due to the deadly Corona Virus. In India, cricket is not just a game, it is a religion and with this epidemic corona outbreak, the fans are disappointed and nervous about the future of the sport. The delay in this most popular IPL league 2020 has already caused a lot of disappointment to the fans, but it is heard that IPL can also be canceled if this threat is not averted.
